ape added 1 item to Wrestling Games - ranked by preference list

Release Date: 1994 (NA) Publisher: Acclaim Developer: Sculptured Software Genre: Fighting - WrestlingWWF Raw adds to the mildy successful formula of WWF Royal Rumble by differentiating each wrestler not just by their finishing holds, but also by their basic movesets, so each wrestler feels slightly different to play as. Also added is the first female wrestler in a WWF game, the late Luna Vachon, so if you prefer to beat up men as a lady, you can do that as well. Lastly, some secret moves for each wrestler have been added as well - very arcade-y, unrealistic moves, but they're in the game should you feel the need to unleash them. Despite those additions, and a few new game modes, this is still basically the same game that Acclaim had been putting out since Super Wrestlemania...but the best version. It was passable for its time, and it hasn't aged as poorly as one might think, but North American wrestling games have come a very long way snce this game.

ape added 1 item to Pinball Games - ranked by preference list

Release Date: December 10, 1993 (JP) Publisher: Tengen Developer: Tengen Genre: PinballThis sequel to Dragon's Fury (Devil's Crush on the Turbografx-16) is proof that bigger isn't always better. While the pinball table is larger in scale, the design of the table just isn't quite the same quality as the original. Likewise, just because some of the bonus tables have scantily-clad ladies, it doesn't make the gameplay any more interesting. Thankfully, while it doesn't quite live up to the quality of Dragon's Fury, Dragon's Revenge is still a good pinball game worth playing if you're a fan of the genre...but Dragon's Fury should be your first choice.

ape added 1 item to Compilations - ranked by preference list

Release Date: October 21, 1994 (JP) Publisher: Capcom Developer: Capcom Genre: CompilationMega Man: The Wily Wars is a compilation of the first three Mega Man titles, all upgraded to 16-bit graphics...and I'm disappointed that it never made its way to North America...Especially after finding out about the hidden Wily Tower game within, with new robot masters. Unfortunately, new "game" aside, the NES versions are superior to these "enhanced" versions in every way. That's not to say that Mega Man fans won't find enjoyment here. It's a nice novelty to have Mega Man 1-3 in 16-bits, but if you've already played through the first three games on the NES, you can probably pass this compilation.
