For some reason, I struggled with Guilty Gear in the past...But for whatever reason, not tonight. Maybe it's because I'm half asleep and as a result, I'm very patient with my fighting patterns instead of just rushing in and mashing buttons...but whatever the reason, Guilty Gear has been beaten...and beaten with relative ease. That said, if you're looking for a quality fighting game on the Playstation, this game is fantastic. The only thing preventing me from giving it a better score is the lack of game modes...around the time it came out, fighting games were moving away from only having arcade modes and adding in other modes to keep replayability up. Otherwise, the game looks absolutely gorgeous, it plays smoothly, and is just a very good overall experience. If you like fighting games, you'll likely love Guilty Gear.7 years, 5 months ago

I did a responsible, adult thing and spent my Labor Day weekend getting good enough at Swamp Thing so that I could beat it...And beat it, I did. While it's not exactly the brawler that one might expect from a Swamp Thing game (in fact, it's basically a platformer with very poor controls for attacking) it does have its own charm to it that you might discover if you stick with it. However, with awful, awkward controls I don't think too many will stick with it...especially since level 2 is that horrid factory level - one of my least favorite levels in video game history. In fact, if you can beat the factory, it's pretty much smooth sailing through the rest of the game, in my opinion. Swamp thing could definitely be worse, but with the plentiful selection of good, quality platformers on the NES, Swamp Thing should have probably sunk back into the marsh he came from....because he came from a marsh you know, so many trees in the game! It's kind of ironic that the first game I've beaten on the Xbox One is an Xbox 360 game...But Fallout 3 happened to be on sale...and then all of the DLC went on sale a few weeks later...and the next thing you know, I'm falling in love with Fallout 3 all over again. Anyway, thanks to the screenshot feature of the Xbox One (which is such a pain and way more complicated to access the pictures you took than it needs to be) I managed to nab my own screen for this game, seen above. So that's neat. Otherwise, I put nearly 70 hours into this game over the past month or so, and did not come across a single bug. I don't know if the digital version on the Microsoft store is patched up or if the Xbox One hardware is just powerful enough to not be affected or what, but the disc 360 version was buggy when I originally beat the game. The PS3 version and PS3 version of the Game of the Year Edition were both buggy. The PC version was buggy - both digital and disc-based. So playing through without a single bug was a very pleasant surprise...So, I suppose, if you're looking for some nostalgia and want to play this wonderful game from about 7-8 years ago, this might be the version to go with. It's just as fun as it ever was, but with the added benefit of seemingly being free of the bugs that plagued it when it first released.7 years, 8 months ago

I've been playing the original Star Ocean on and off for the past 2 months or so...and while I've always liked the original Star Ocean, I've never beaten it. That has now been remedied...and I'm very surprised at how short it was. I finished it in a little over 17 hours...but that was with me wandering around and grinding levels. I wouldn't be surprised if there are people who have beaten this in under 10 hours. That said, it feels like once the story really gets going, it comes to an abrupt end. It's still an enjoyable experience while it lasts, but with a little more story, better fleshed-out characters, and perhaps another planet or two to explore, I can't help but feel like this could have been absolutely amazing.
